You are beautiful.
You are unlimited.
And you matter.
Perhaps you’ve forgotten this. Please let me remind you.
Or worse yet, you don’t believe it.
Please let me convince you.
Life gets busy and often the importance of perspective gets lost as we just try and make it through another day. Daily demands and prioritizing others often means you never get around to taking care of the most important person in your life.
You.
Here, in no particular order, are seven thoughts to contemplate in hopes you’ll take the a few moments to reconnect with this beautiful person you call you.
Beautiful isn’t something you become, its something you already are. Walk through any supermarket check-out and you are inundated with the latest fashion and lifestyle magazines, each attempting to define what beauty is supposed to look like. Beauty isn’t a certain face, it isn’t a dress size, nor is it perfect abs. Beauty is the soul, the spirit of Divine Light which radiates within all of us. Including you. Perhaps you don’t see it, but just because you’ve yet to find it doesn’t mean it isn’t there. And it is. Beautiful is a birthright.
You are perfect as you already are. It’s quite fashionable these days to “accept” your “flaws” and “imperfections” and to love yourself despite of them. None of us were created flawed or imperfect. What gets us in trouble is when we decide to see ourselves as some sort of defective merchandise, not quite as good as what we’ve unfortunately decided to compare ourselves to. You were created to be the perfect you…a true, one-of-a-kind, never-to-be-replicated human expression of God. In God’s eyes there are no imperfections. See yourself the way God sees you.
You are unlimited. It was so much easier to blame others back when I only saw what was lacking in my life. Amazing things happen when you realize you were actually the one holding the leash attached to the collar wrapped around your own neck. You are a unique collection of talents, gifts, and abilities just awaiting your permission to be fully expressed in this unlimited and abundant universe. We can either hold ourselves back or set ourselves free. What’s you choice?
You are an inspiration! You may not know it, but there are people in your life whom you unknowingly inspire simply by being you. It could be a friend, relative, co-worker…anyone. But who you are and the way you live your life mean a great deal to someone, much like the way you’ve often silently admired others. Yes, you matter. Greatly.
The most important person who can remind you of your value and worth is you. The world is quite often a thankless place. When was the last time someone reminded you that you matter? Waiting for external recognition of our worth and value is often a very long wait. It’s always nice to hear it from others, but it’s far more meaningful when we remind ourselves of our own worth and value. Be kind and loving to the one person who will spend their entire life with you. You.
Yes, you are worthy. I once asked God to please prove to me I was worthy of the abundance of blessings around me. He challenged me to prove to Him that I wasn’t. I couldn’t. And neither could you. We are all created to share equally in the unlimited abundance of God’s universe. The Universe is an equal opportunity provider and the very fact you are here is proof of your worthiness.
Gratitude is the foundation of your lasting peace. The greatest source of peace is gratitude. Real gratitude. And it’s more than just making a list of what you’re appreciative for. It’s taking the time to truly feel what it is you are grateful for. Be grateful for what you have, who you are, and all you’ve yet to become. Take a look at your life. No matter where you are there is always something to be grateful for. Especially yourself.
You have been given a very precious gift. You. Treat yourself with the unconditional love, kindness, compassion, and encouragement all of us deserve.
And that, my friend, includes you!
It’s a great day to be you!
Hi Peter,
Love the post – especially how you have shared the idea of being worthy and self belief.
It is very powerful.
Thanks,
Bren
